--LEAD IN--

Two young friends became famous as they waved to the world from the deck of the stranded Carnival Cruise ship Triumph.

Now they are back home and telling the tale of a vacation they will never forget.

David Mattingly has the story.

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--

THEIR FIRST HOT BREAKFAST IN SIX DAYS...ALL THEY CAN EAT...AND THE DRINK THEY CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF...

"Both of you wanted sweet tea for breakfast?"

12 YEAR OLD REBEKAH PORET AND 10 YEAR OLD ALLIE TAYLOR WERE THE ONES BEHIND THAT VERY PUBLIC WAVE HELLO FROM ON TOP THE CRIPPLED CRUISE SHIP TRIUMPH...TELLING THEIR MOMS AND EVERYONE WATCHING...THEY WERE OKAY.

AND NOW THESE EXCLUSIVE PICTURES FROM THE WEE HOURS OF FRIDAY MORNING....THE MUCH ANTICIPATED REUNION WITH THEIR MOMS... ...CAUGHT ON CAMERA...

<pi></pi>A HOT SHOWER AND A SHORT NAP LATER I FIND THEM A LITTLE WEARY...AND A LITTLE MORE WORLDLY.

"I feel a little stronger than I was before?"

MATTINGLY:More grown up?

"Yeah it feels like we've been on there for a year at least."

ON THE CRUISE WITH THEIR FATHERS ALLIE AND REBEKAH CAME HOME WITH UNSETTLING STORIES AND THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT. LIKE THIS ONE TAKEN WHEN THE SHIP'S ENGINE WAS ON FIRE.

MATTINGLY:You had to be scared when that was happening.

"We were scared. We jumped out of bed put our clothes on and we ran."

"We ran to the lido deck to watch everything and the smell was horrible."

AND IT GOT EVEN WORSE FROM THERE. THE RAW SEWAGE, THE HOT ROOMS, THE COLD FOOD...AND THE FEAR THEY COULDN'T SHAKE.

ALLIE KEPT A DIARY.

"We're hot and sweaty and tired. But I can't sleep unless we die or something...and I said..."

MATTINGLY:Wait a minute. Did you really think you were going to die?

"I thought we were going to tip over in case the tug boat got out of control cause it was dark outside."

MATTINGLY:Does it upset you to look at these pictures now?

MATTINGLY:It doesn't really upset me. It's just kind like I went through that, like it doesnt seem real like wow I was on that boat and now I'm off. Like hallelulah I'm off.

BUT MAYBE NOT FOR TOO LONG. WE TOOK A WALK BACK TO THE SHIP THEY COULDN'T WAIT TO ESCAPE.

MATTINGLY<pi>:</pi>Were you on this side of the boat or the other side?

REBEKAH AND ALLIE ARE CRUISE VETERANS WITH EIGHT TRIPS BETWEEN THEM...THE TRIUMPH WAS THEIR ONLY BAD EXPERIENCE.

MATTINGLY:Tell me something. Will you ever go back on another cruise like that?

"I will probably later in the future. But not right now."

FOR NOW IT'S BACK HOME AND BACK TO SCHOOL WITH AN INCREDIBLE STORY TO TELL. DAVID MATTINGLY CNN...MOBILE ALABAMA.
