Saturday's Peace Walk benefits Trayvon Martin Foundation

Gun violence advocates take to the streets of Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Trayvon Martin died five years ago on February 26. The teen's parents and dozens were marching on Saturday, a day after three teens were shot nearby in Miami Gardens. 

The Carol City Senior Senior High School band joined the annual "Peace Walk," which was set to end at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Center.

Members of the Circle of Mothers of children who have have been victims of gun violence and the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida participated in the walk.

The event benefits the Trayvon Martin Foundation, a social justice organization committed to ending gun violence.
