Fresh-cut vegetables recalled from South Fla. supermakets

Products sold at Publix, Winn-Dixie, Wal-Mart and other stores

MIAMI – Vegetable products sold at local South Florida supermarkets have been recalled due to the possibility of Listeria contamination.

Country Fresh is recalling 30,000 cases of various products.

Publix, Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart are some of the local supermarkets that sell the products that are being pulled from the shelves.

Products in question bear a "Best If Used By" date between August 7, 2016 and August 19, 2016 and are in clear plastic containers or Styrofoam trays.

Listeria can cause fatal infections in children and frail or elderly people, or those with weak immune systems. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
