Melatonin is produced naturally in the body, but also comes in synthetic form to help with a variety of problems including sleep issues.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were called out to the school after the children became very drowsy and treated all the patients on campus. The students were released to their parents.

An investigation is currently underway to determine how the children obtained the gummies.
