A real-life version of ABC's soap opera "General Hospital" is in the works.
According to The New York Post, the network is developing a reality show that follows the professional and personal lives of doctors and nurses who work at the famed UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The new hospital show would be for either syndication or cable.
ABC has been experimenting with its daytime slots since canceling long-running soaps "All My Children" and "One Life To Live." "The Chew," a mostly cooking show has done well with the ratings. Katie Couric's new talk show is also in syndication in the afternoon and owned by ABC.
