Beyoncé, fans in 'Formation' at Marlins Park for tour kickoff

Despite controversy, police were present

MIAMI – Beyoncé kicked off her latest world tour in Miami Wednesday by demanding that fans get in 'Formation.'

The Formation World Tour is named after the same song that got a local Miami police union president all riled up earlier this year.

He even threatened to boycott the show because he felt the song had an anti-police message.

But there were plenty of police and security present at Marlin's Park before the concert as rumors flew about Beyoncé's relationship with Jay Z being on the rocks.

The rumors were sparked by the release of "Lemonade," which debuted over the weekend, is full with cryptic lyrics that are said to allude to Jay-Z cheating.

"Right now we're going to look at it as rumors," Melissa Lucas said.

No time for rumors for Allison DeOilivera, who was at the concert to celebrate her 20th birthday with Beyoncé.

"She's perfect," DeOilivera said. "She's Beyoncé, she's the Queen Bey."

Tens of thousands of members of the Beyhive – a nickname given to Beyoncé fans – were at the concert.

These fans came from around the world, and represented every age demographic.

"(She's) a beautiful lady and very good singer," Jorge Mendez, 63, said.

Lena Temasion came from France to see the artist that fans often refer to as the Queen Bey.

Albinique Brown and Jasmine Houston-Rosado came about three hours before the show, with two pairs of shoes, comfy flats for the line, and high heels for the show.

"I don't care as long as we see her," Jasmine said.

As for the cheating rumors Brown has her own theory.

"I feel like she made the album for women, not for her marriage," she said.
