LOS ANGELES - Actor Channing Tatum won a very coveted award on Wednesday.
The star of the blockbuster "Magic Mike" was named People magazine's sexiest man alive.
Tatum, 32, said he was shocked when he heard he had received the honor
The hugely successful "Magic Mike" was loosely based on the life of the star from Alabama, who first worked as a male stripper.
Miami Heat star Mario Chalmers is also featured in the sexiest man alive issue. Chalmers represents his home state of Alaska in what People calls the "United States of Sexy."
Superstar singer Enrique Iglesias represents Florida.
"Hangover" star Bradley Cooper was People's sexiest man alive in 2011.
