MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Though the threat of Hurricane Harvey forced Coldplay to postpone their Friday concert in Houston, the Bayou City was still in the band’s heart.
During their live performance Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, the band performed a song they wrote in the wake of Harvey called "Houston" and called the city No. 1.
Lead singer Chris Martin said during a heartfelt dedication to the city under water that the song would never be played again.
"This is because we all grew up loving country music, and of course that's what we think of when we go to Texas," Maritn said. "So, if you'll bear with us, this is a new song and we'll never play this again. This is called 'Houston.' We're gonna sing it in Miami for everybody here, and we're gonna send it over to everyone who missed the show."
The lyrics of the song talk about a carefree Houston and a city that is strong.
