Saturday was all about new sounds, with bands like Glass Animals, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Miike Snow, The Struts and Silversun Pickups.   It was a gorgeous day to be outside listening to live music.  It wasn’t  too hot and there was a good breeze coming in off the ocean.

The law firm of Anidjar & Levine made sure no one got sunburned; with giveaways of sunscreen, hand sanitizer, beach towels and a free Miami Heat bag to keep it all in!

It was easy to get around inside the fence, with lots of room for people to spread out their blankets and beach towels or mark their spot with some low-rise beach chairs.  Everyone was having a great time, with a new band coming up every hour.

One of the performers, Andrew McMahon, had to go on without his own equipment.  As he announced from the stage, there was a mix-up at the airport and they ended up having to borrow some gear to perform, but it didn’t matter to the extremely enthusiastic crowd.

Sunday was reserved for the classic sounds of 80s hit makers like The B-52’s, The Fixx, A Flock of Seagulls and Earth Wind & Fire.

The sound was excellent.  You could hear the bands performing no matter if you were at the back along the fence, or waiting in line for a Port-a-Potty or to get another beer or maybe something to eat.

And it was really easy to find everything you needed.   There were bathrooms and refreshment stands on both sides of the stage, as well as in the middle, right behind the sound board.

There was also a small tent set up near the entrance, where bands played “secret” shows that were announced from the main stage before they performed up there!

It was a great weekend of music and fun in the sun while many parts of the country are shivering through the beginning of winter!   I can’t wait for the Riptide to come in next year!
