Pérez Art Museum Miami gives workers' rights a stage during 'Free Second Saturday'

Artist aiming to give voice to domestic workers takes over museum

MIAMI – The Pérez Art Museum Miami gave artist Marisa Morán Jahn the stage on Saturday. 

She is working with filmmaker Yael Melamede on "CareForce One Travelogues," a public art project mean to amplify the voices of domestic workers.

They have been traveling from New York City to Miami to meet with caregivers. Their stories discuss labor laws, immigration policy and the legacies of slavery and racial discrimination. 

During the day of events, Goya Foods will be serving juices and cookies. Admission to the museum is free on the second Saturday of the  month and self-parking at PAMM's garage is $10.
