Survey reveals new Harry Potter expansion details
'Gringotts' thrill ride will be in 3D, according to survey
Universal Orlando revealed new details about the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion to a select number of annual passholders through a new survey.
In the survey, passholders discovered the expansion will open sometime in the summer of 2014. Universal Orlando only said the expansion would open in 2014 when it first announced the plans.
Passholders were also told the Gringotts Wizarding Bank interactive thrill ride will be in 3D.
The survey also said guests will experience "shows" while riding on the Hogwarts Express to and from the new London/Diagon Alley expansion. Based on the questions asked, Universal Orlando may be considering one show or different shows based on the destination.
Guests may also be required to buy a two-park pass in order to ride the Hogwarts Express. However, the questions in the survey indicate Universal Orlando has not ruled out allowing single-park passholders to experience the train.
Universal Orlando is also considering new crowd control methods during "high attendance periods." Those peak periods include Christmas, Spring Break, Easter and "portions of July."
The survey said guests may not exit directly into the park during those times. Instead, the trains would stop just outside Hogsmeade or London and guests would be required to walk "less than a minute" into the land.
