Dentist found mold inside daughters Sophie the Giraffe toy

Your child's Sophie the Giraffe chew toy might be Sophie the Moldy Giraffe.

A report on GoodHousekeeping.com claims a pediatric dentist was shocked to find mold inside the Sophie one of her son's uses.

Dana Chianese says she recommends teething toys to parents of her patients, until now.

"I decided to cut into Sophie out of curiosity and discovered a science experiment living inside," Chianese told Goodhousekeeping.com. "Smelly, ugly mold living in my infant's favorite chew toy!"

Chianese did some investigating after she noticed a hole in the toy.

Another mother warned others on Amazon about the same issue inside her daughter's Sophie the Giraffe.

Stephanie Opera shared a picture in a comment she posted to the retail website showing the mold inside of the toy she cut open.

The article quoted a professor of pediatrics who said moldy toys should not be too concerning to parents, unless their child has a immune disorder.
