MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā The Florida Department of Health confirmed on Tuesday a case of Dengue fever found in Miami-Dade County.
Health officials said the mosquito-borne infection was the first to be reported in the county this year and the second case of locally-acquired Dengue found in Florida in 2016.Ā

The department said the infected person had received medical treatment and was expected to recover.
Health officials are looking into whether anyone who came in close contact with the individual has also been infected.
Symptoms of Dengue fever include "muscle aches and pains, fever, and sometimes a rash," according to a health department news release.
Officials said the county's Mosquito Control was notified of the infection and was targeting the area of concern.
