Officials said a person who lives in the area where the trap was set up has been notified, and the 1/8-mile area surrounding the property has been treated to kill off mosquitoes.

Residents in Miami-Dade County are asked to help reduce mosquitoes and the spread of mosquito-borne diseases by draining standing water on their properties and wearing repellent when they go outdoors.
