FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

A man featured on "America's Most Wanted" more than 10 years ago was captured Friday in Fort Lauderdale.

Robert Marone, 69, was wanted in New Jersey for parole violations stemming from a 1971 murder conviction, as well as a warrant for a charge of aggravated sexual assault on a child in 1992.

Marone was featured on "America's Most Wanted" in March of 2002, but he was not captured until Friday.

Members of the Fort Lauderdale Police Fugitive Unit, which includes detectives on the FBI Fugitive Task force and the U.S. Marshals Service, received a tip that Marone may have been a transient in Fort Lauderdale.

They found Marone within a matter of hours in the 1000 block of State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale and took him into custody.

Marone is being held at the Broward County Main Jail as he awaits extradition to New Jersey.
