DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -

A robber who police said targeted a Deerfield Beach bank on Wednesday was quickly arrested.

Broward Sheriff's Deputies said Clarence Fadden, 62, walked into a Bank of America at 1000 South Federal Highway on Wednesday and handed the teller a note, stating: "I have a bomb in my bag. Empty the drawer. Thank you."

The teller handed over about $3,000.

Detectives said Fadden was located at a nearby Denny's Restaurant and was positively identified as the robber by a witness.

The stolen cash was recovered and deputies said Fadden confessed to the crime.

Fadden is charged with strong arm robbery and possession of a hoax bomb.
