POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -

Broward Sheriff's officials say one person died when a train hit a sports utility vehicle in Pompano Beach.

The crash happened at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say a section of Sample Road was closed for hours as authorities investigated.

BSO identified the driver as 56-year-old Neuza Candida Harris.

No further details were immediately available.
