One person was airlifted to Ryder Trauma after being shot in the back Sunday.

There were reportedly two vehicles chasing after and shooting at a silver Pontiac Grand Prix.

The man who was driving the Grand Prix was shot in the back as he sped away from the other two vehicles. He then crashed in front of an elementary school.

Despite his injury, the victim swam across a canal while the gunmen continued shooting. The victim then collapsed a block over.

There were reportedly at least 30 rounds shot off from an AK-47 and a 9 mm weapon.

Police do not believe the victim fired any shots.
