MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -

One man was killed and two others were hospitalized after a series of stabbings in Miami Gardens early Monday.

The incident happened at Northwest 157th Street and 29th Avenue about 5 a.m.

Michael Hunter identified the man who was killed as 28-year-old James Nelson, his brother.

Hunter said Nelson was outside with some friends when a fight broke out and he was stabbed. Witnesses told police they heard gun shots, but it's unclear if anyone was shot.

The conditions of the two injured people weren't immediately released.
