1 man dead after motorcycle crash in Pompano Beach

Deputies: Speed factor in crash

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A man lost control of his motorcycle early Sunday morning, causing him to hit a concrete pole, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Homicide investigators said the man was traveling at a high rate of speed along Copans Road, just west of Powerline Road, in Pompano Beach when the crash happened.

The crash sparked a fire that engulfed the motorcycle, according to officials.

Deputies have not identified the victim. Deputies said there were no other cars involved.
