Woman crashes into laundromat after fight over parking spot

Adolphus Melvin injured at Wash World while protecting mother

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for a woman who crashed her car into a northwest Miami-Dade County laundromat early Monday morning.

Miami-Dade police said the incident stemmed from a feud that began Sunday night at Wash World, 5750 NW 27th Ave., where two women began fighting over a parking spot.

The women left after laundromat employee Sabrina Bullard called police. Bullard's son, Adolphus Melvin, 24, was visiting his mother when one of the women who had been a part of the altercation returned.

Melvin said she began using a spray bottle to douse Bullard with an unknown liquid. Melvin stepped in to protect his mother, and the unidentified woman left the business, got into her car and drove it into the store, hitting Melvin in the process.

"(I said), 'Why did you stand there?' (And he said), 'Mom, I was trying to help. I was protecting you,'" Bullard said.

Bullard said Melvin suffered a fractured leg.

Police were looking for the unidentified woman. Bullard said she appeared to be in her late 20s and had long blonde braids. She was last seen wearing a tight green shirt and multicolored leggings. She was driving a beige four-door Chevrolet Caprice.

"I didn't have anything to do with it and my son didn't have anything to do with it, and she should've just stayed home," Bullard said.

Police said the woman is a regular at the laundromat and is believed to live in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
