Fire officials say the home at 3129 SW 15 Court, just south of Davie Boulevard between Interstate 95 and State Road 7, was completely engulfed in flames.

Neighbors told Local 10 News reporter Roger Lohse that they saw smoke coming from the woman's home and tried to help by using fire extinguishers.

The woman was taken to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated for minor burns to her legs and smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say the blaze started in a back bedroom. No one else was home at the time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
