An armored truck guard was shot in the leg during a robbery in northwest Miami-Dade County.
The robbery occurred Friday morning at Check Cashing USA, 2905 NW 27th Ave.
Miami-Dade police said the Brinks guard was expected to be OK.
Local 10 News crime reporter John Turchin said the Brinks truck was making a money delivery to the check-cashing business when a man pushed the 72-year-old guard to the ground and shot him.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken, but police said there was a tracking device.
Authorities describe the robber as a man with a dark complexion, between the age of 18-20 years old, who is about 5'8 in height, and 130-180 pounds.
The FBI is taking over the investigation and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. In addition, Brinks is offering a $20,000 reward for the next 10 days for information leading to an arrest.
