1 struck by lightning in Homestead

Victim taken to hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – One person was struck by lightning Friday in Homestead, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erika Benitez said.

The incident was reported outside a home at 444 NW 22nd St.

Benitez said the victim was taken to a hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The victim's condition has not been released.

The National Weather Service had issued a significant weather advisory for frequent to excessive lightning in Southwestern Broward and Northwestern Miami-Dade counties until 4:15 p.m.
