Teens Caught On Camera Vandalizing School
POSTED: Tuesday, December 26, 2006
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives are asking for the community’s help to identify two teens caught on surveillance video vandalizing a school in Parkland. Tuesday, detectives released images of two teens at Westglades Middle School, located at 11000 Holmberg Road.
The principal of the middle school called the Broward Sheriff’s Office after she found graffiti on the walls and corridors of the first and second floors of the school on Dec. 10. Investigators believe the vandalism occurred the night before, between 11 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Surveillance tape shows two teens carrying cans of spray paint defacing the property. BSO said that Coral Springs Middle School had also been vandalized on the same weekend.
Investigators said that the teenage boys appear to be 13 to 16 years old. Due to the similarity in color of paint and writing style, detectives said that they believe the same boys could have vandalized both schools.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Parkland Detective Brian Goolsby at 954-753-5050 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously at 954-493-TIPS. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
