12 arrested in Central Broward prostitution sting

Deputies arrest 12 in one-night sting operation called '47 Op'

CENTRAL BROWARD, Fla. – Deputies say they arrested 12 people in a one-night prostitution sting in Central Broward early Friday morning.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said authorities targeted the corridor along the 600 to 900 block of Northwest 27 Avenue during a one-night sting operation called "47 Op."

Deputies said undercover detectives solicited sex for money from street-level prostitutes. The four-hour operation netted 12 arrests (11 pictured above).

The operation, "47 Op," came about because of complaints the Broward Sheriff's Office said they received from residents regarding prostitutes in their neighborhood.

Anyone that notices anything suspicious or illegal is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online here. Deputies said Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
