12 injured on MIA-bound flight

MIAMI - Miami-Dade Fire Rescue workers met passengers arriving at Miami International Airport Tuesday after turbulence injured several people on board.

American Airlines officials said flight 1780 was coming from Aruba and about 30 minutes prior to landing started experiencing "moderate turbulence." When the plane landed at 6:06 p.m., five people, including two flight attendants, were treated and taken to nearby hospitals. Six others were treated at the airport, according to MDFR. There were no critical injuries.

In total there were 185 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
