MIAMI -- A woman lost her hand during a boating trip Wednesday when it was severed by a boat's propeller.
The unidentified 30-year-old woman was in the water in Biscayne Bay when she got too close to the propeller and it cut off her hand, Local 10 reported. It is not known if she fell into the water or jumped in, according to investigators.
She was taken by boat to Mount Sinai Hospital, then rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Police divers searched the waters for her severed hand in hopes of getting it to surgeons to have it re-attached, but were unable to find it, Local 10 reported.
