2 arson suspects in custody after house fire in Miami

Investigators believe men threw Molotov cocktail inside vacant home

MIAMI ā€“ Police say they have taken into custody two men suspected of starting a house fire in Miami.

At 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, a member of Miami Police Department's Tactical Robbery Unit when police said he saw a house, located at 1223 Northwest 37th Street, engulfed in flames.

The officer immediately requested for the Miami Fire Department to respond, however was simultaneously approached by a witness who told him, she saw the fire starters, police said.

Investigators said two men were seen throwing what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail inside the vacant home.

The witness gave police a full description of the suspects who she saw running after throwing the flammable object.

Shortly after, police said two men fitting the suspects' description were apprehended and taken into custody.

At this time, burglary detectives are interviewing the two suspects.

Police said charges are pending as the investigation continues.
