FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Police arrested a man and a woman Monday after finding what investigators say was a meth lab inside her motel room.

Police charged 22-year-old Tonya Jones with possession of hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and possession of drug paraphernalia. They also arrested Michael Byrd, but didn't immediately list the charges he faces.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers were called to the Relax Inn at 1851 South Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale after the manager said Jones and Byrd trashed their room.

Inside the room, officers found several pills, burnt spoons, loose steel wool, and syringes, according to the affidavit. Officers also found a Dilaudid pill inside Jones' pocket and burnt spoons and syringes inside her purse.

Police evacuated the motel while investigators secured the chemicals inside the room.
