Police: 2 burglarized car at North Miami Beach gym

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -

Two men are charged with burglarizing a car in the parking lot of a North Miami Beach gym.

According to investigators, detectives saw Anthony Scott and Shawn Roberts break into a vehicle at Planet Fitness on September 27. Detectives said 22 vehicle burglaries have occurred at the gym in the last 8 months.

After the burglary, both Scott and Roberts were arrested. Inside their car, police found a stolen .45 handgun along with personal items from the car they had just burglarized and from another vehicle burglary at a nursing home.

Both Roberts and Scott are charged with armed burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, and third-degree grand theft.
