ORLANDO, Fla. -

Two people are dead and six more were taken to a central Florida hospital following an early morning crash between a passenger van and a semi-truck.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Wanda Diaz said in a statement that the agency responded to the crash on Interstate 95 in Ormond Beach on Saturday morning.

The two fatalities were both adults. The six people injured were taken to Halifax Hospital.

All lanes were able to remain open to traffic with the exception of one northbound lane.
