2 men rescued from capsized boat near Jupiter Inlet

Video shows moments men pulled to safety

JUPITER INLET, Fla. ā€“ Two men were rescued from their overturned boat Thursday morning near the Jupiter Inlet.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office posted the video to Facebook.

Deputies said their pilot was training with the National Guard when he heard the call about the boaters in distress.

He soon spotted the men from the air and tossed them a life ring.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office marine unit also assisted and pulled the boaters to safety.

Martin County Sheriff's Chief Pilot, Deputy Doug Newsom was in Air 1 training with members of the National Guard when the call came in. Air 1 was able to locate the boat from the air, and tossed a life ring to the men. A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Marine Unit was able to get to the men from the water. Both were pulled to safety.
