2 men rob convenience store, attack clerk, deputies say

Robbery occurred at Stop N Go in North Lauderdale

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for two robbers who were caught on surveillance video attacking a clerk behind the register at a convenience store in North Lauderdale.

The robbery happened July 20 at the Stop N Go at 6121 Bailey Road.

Deputies said one of the robbers threw Muhammed Meer to the floor, punched him repeatedly and yelled, "Where's the money?" while the other ransacked the cash register. The thieves, who were armed with a knife, then stole Meer's cellphone.

During the robbery, a customer entered the store and was also grabbed by one of the men. Deputies said Meer asked the robbers to lock him and the customer in the bathroom where they waited until the thieves left the store.

The thieves got away with Meer's cellphone and $390 in cash.
