Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for two bicycle-riding thieves who upgraded their rides by stealing a $50,000 Ford F-150 pickup from a house in Parkland.
The BSO said Parkland resident Craig Rosen parked his white 2013 Ford pickup in the driveway of his home at 6700 Northwest 66th Way shortly after midnight June 11. He left the car unattended with the doors unlocked and the keys inside.
About an hour later two unidentified men on bicycles entered the property through an unlocked gate. They then entered the F-150, stayed inside for only a minute and escaped on their bicycles.
BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said surveillance video captured the same individuals returning to the property around 2 a.m. that same morning. The suspects placed their bicycles in the bed of the pickup and drove away.
The F-150 was recovered the next day in Homestead, but the thieves got away with Rosen's wallet that was in his vehicle. One of Rosen's credit cards was used to make a purchase at a gas station in Miami-Dade County.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the thieves is asked to call the BSO at 954-753-5050.
