2 threaten employees in attempted robbery

BSO: Armed robbers unable to steal cash from Value Pawn

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for two armed robbers who ambushed three Value Pawn employees as they closed up shop Monday.

The incident happened about 7 p.m. at 3181 N. Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

The employees told BSO two armed men attempted to rob the store but were unable to get money from the safe. They said the men took them into the woods, told them get on their knees, and said they'd kill them.

When deputies approached with lights and sirens activated, the robbers ran off.

Surveillance video showed the ordeal from beginning to end.

The robbers were dressed in hooded sweatshirts and pants and both carried backpacks. They are described as being between 5'10 and 6' tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.
