2 wanted in fiery gas attack

Miami-Dade Police: Willie Summersett, Alex Cineas set Darrell Brackett on fire

MIAMI – Miami-Dade Police are looking for two men who, they say, doused another man in gasoline and set him on fire late Christmas night.

Miami-Dade Police named Willie Summersett, 29, and Alex Cineas, 21, as suspects on Thursday.

The pair, along with two others, are accused of setting Darrell Brackett on fire after his car ran out of gas at NW 47th Street and 27th Avenue.

"To set a person on fire, you have to be a really inhumane person, you know. No conscious," said Bridgett Brackett, the victim's mother.

Police also want to talk with several men recorded on surveillance video at Hialeah Hospital as they got out of a light-colored Jeep Compass. Summersett went there to be treated for burns.

Brackett suffered third-degree burns on 70 percent of his body. He is listed in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"He won't be the same, a happy person, a cheerful person. It's going to take a long time. He won't ever be the same," said Angela Brackett, the victim's sister.

Summersett also has an active warrant for Attempted First-Degree Murder and has 33 arrests and 21 convictions on his record, said police.

"He is obviously someone who is very aggressive, someone who has a completely has a disregard for human life," said Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez.

"I forgive the people who've done this. I have no animosity because in the long run, they will be brought to justice and they will have to answer to what they have done, so I'm alright right now," said Bridgett Brackett.

It's unclear if the suspects knew Brackett.
