WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday at the White House.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Trump used social media to announce that their “very good meeting” behind closed doors had ended.
“I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue,” Trump wrote in a statement.
The U.S. has been pushing Iran for a nuclear deal during talks in Oman. In the statement, Trump warned that the last time Iran “decided that they were better off not making a Deal” there were U.S. airstrikes.
“Hopefully this time they will be more reasonable and responsible,” Trump wrote.

Netanyahu’s office also released a statement saying he and Trump had “agreed to continue their close coordination and relationship.”
Netanyahu also met with State Secretary Marco Rubio on Wednesday at the Blair House and with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Tuesday.
Netanyahu announced that he signed Israel’s accession as a member of Trump’s Board of Peace in Gaza once Hamas is no longer in control.
