BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -

Twenty-two World War II veterans are being given France's highest honor in a ceremony in South Florida.

The men will be awarded medals Thursday morning in Boynton Beach deeming them knights in the National Order of the Legion of Honor for their service liberating France.

The ceremony puts the veterans in the company of other famed Americans, including Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell, who have been given the honor.

France has been holding similar events around the U.S. to honor veterans who fought on French soil during World War II.
