Twenty-three World War II veterans are being given France's highest honor in a ceremony in Daytona Beach.
The veterans will be awarded medals Tuesday at the International Motorsports Center deeming them knights in the National Order of the Legion of Honor for their service liberating France.
The ceremony puts the veterans in the company of other famed Americans, including Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell, who have been given the honor.
France has been holding similar events around the U.S. to honor veterans who fought on French soil during World War II.
