3 adults, infant injured when SUV driver loses control in Miami Beach, police say

Driver remains on scene after crash

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A group of five adults and an infant were struck Sunday morning by a sport utility vehicle that went out of  control in Miami Beach, police said.

Three of the five adults and the infant were injured  when they were hit by a white Jeep at about 12:05 a.m. on Collins Avenue.

Two adults and the baby received serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries, and were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, police said.

The third adult victim was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with minor injuries.

The driver remained at the crash scene, police said, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police believe wet roads may have been a contributing factor.
