3 found dead at family home in Lauderhill, police say

Lauderhill Police Department refers to homicides as 'heinous act'

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Detectives were investigating three deaths in Lauderhill on Monday.

Lt. Greg Solowsky said officers responded to the home at 3650 NW 3rd St. about 3 p.m. Officers found three bodies inside.

Solowsky described the crime as a "heinous act" and said the relatives of the victims were "in a very, very emotional grieving state."

In two separate incidents, a man and a woman who were distraught fell to their knees. About an hour later, dozens surrounded the home.

"They have a very large support network. They are entrenched in our community," Solowsky said. "They are upstanding citizens."

Solowsky said the family affected had the support of a local church.

Crime scene technicians were expected to remain working at the home overnight. Police closed Northwest Third Street at Northwest 38th Avenue.

"This is going to be  along investigation," Solowsky said. "All of my detectives are out here working."
