3 in custody after Farm Store robbed at gunpoint in North Lauderdale

Deputies seek 2 others

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward County Sheriff's SWAT team and Margate police responded to a neighborhood overnight near U.S. 441 and Kimberly Boulevard in North Lauderdale after an armed robbery was reported at a Farm Store.

The robbery was reported just before midnight Wednesday at the Farm Store at 6440 Kimberly Blvd.

Officers blocked off a nearby intersection and armored trucks rushed to the scene.

"The police was here (and) we had to get out of the house," Shyann Finley, who lives in the area, said. "There was a whole bunch of police with guns (and a) SWAT team truck."

Sky 10 flew over the scene as deputies loaded a handcuffed man into the back of a patrol car.

According to deputies, five men were involved in the robbery, two of whom were arrested outside the store.

Authorities said three others barricaded themselves inside two neighboring homes, but one was taken into custody.

The gunman, who fled into a home with several occupants, also remains at large, deputies said. The home's occupants were not injured.

Deputies sent a robot into the home later in the morning, but no one was inside.

Authorities said two men, including the gunman, have not been arrested.

Authorities said the group stole a 6-pack of beer and two cigars from the Farm Store.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
