3 dead after fiery crash at Hollywood intersection

Crash remains under investigation

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ Three people are dead after a car caught fire Sunday morning at a Hollywood intersection, police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. at Hollywood Boulevard and 35th Avenue.

Hollywood police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said a preliminary investigation shows that one vehicle was speeding west on Hollywood Boulevard when it crashed into another car that was turning at the intersection.

"One vehicle became fully engulfed and is believed to have had multiple occupants in it at the time," Grossman said in a news release.

A white van and car were involved in the crash.

The woman inside the van was taken to a hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

"It sounded like a semi-truck hit a building or something," a witness told Local 10 News. "It was really loud."

Grossman said the crash remains under investigation.
