MIAMI – Four Miami-Dade County residents were arrested Wednesday, accused of scamming Medicaid out of more than $196,000.
Luz Alvelo, 40, Maria Fernanda-Flores, 24, Manuel Otero, 42, and Yaniel Leal, 36, face charges of conspiracy to commit Medicaid fraud, grand theft and organized fraud.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi's office said the suspects paid Medicaid recipients kickbacks of $20 per day to receive psychosocial rehabilitative services and then submitted falsified claims for targeted case management services that were not rendered to Medicaid recipients.
If convicted, they each face up to 105 years in prison, fines and restitution.
