PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. -

Four people were charged after a 5-year-old boy was injured in a shooting at an apartment in Pembroke Park.

Kamoy Sharpe, 27; Samaro Spencer, 22; Sanek Heron, 20; and, Kenata Williams, 24, were all charged with tampering with evidence. Sharpe was also charged with child neglect, and he and Williams were charged with violation of probation.

The shooting happened 5100 SW 41st Street about 11 a.m. when Sharpe fired a handgun inside the apartment, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. The bullet traveled through the wall and into the bedroom where 5-year-old Anthony Morris was sleeping.

Morris was hit with a projectile and injured. He is listed in fair condition at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

BSO says the four then tried hiding the handgun, but it was later found by detectives.

Meanwhile, two other children have been taken into protective services, authorities said.
