4 students arrested after loaded gun found at Miami Norland Senior High School

2 boys, 3 girls questioned by police

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Norland Senior High School was placed on lockdown Friday and four students were arrested after a loaded gun was found on campus, a school district spokeswoman said.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said school police received an anonymous tip that there was a weapon on campus. She said officers placed the school on lockdown, searched the campus and found a gun.

Two boys and three girls were questioned by police after reports that each of them had the gun at one point or another, Gonzalez-Diego said.

Gonzalez-Diego said four of those students were arrested on charges of possessing a firearm on school property.

Sky 10 was above the school Friday afternoon as several police cars could be seen parked outside.

The lockdown has since been lifted.

No injuries were reported.
