5 people displaced after Hialeah house fire

Cause of fire believed to be roof repair performed by owner

HIALEAH, Fla. – Five people were displaced after a dual family home caught fire Wednesday afternoon in Hialeah, fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to 641 East 19th St., where the home was burning at the ceiling area. Authorities said crews worked to stop the fire from spreading.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a roof repair performed by the owner minutes earlier, Hialeah fire officials said.

There were no injuries, but there was significant damage to the home.

The Red Cross is working to help the five people who were displaced because of the fire.

The Fire Prevention Bureau of Hialeah is investigating.
