Five of the eight Florida high schools to win state football championships for the 2013 are in South Florida.

Miami Central won the Class 6A Championship title Saturday afternoon, beating Hillsborough County's Armwood High School.

South Dade also celebrated a championship win Saturday, upsetting Orange County's Apopka High, securing the school's first state championship win ever, in addition to the Class 8A title. 

Another two Miami-Dade County schools also won their respective class titles this season: Hialeah Champagnat won the Class 2A and Miami's Booker T. Washington won Class 4A.

Plantation American Heritage won the title for Class 5A.
