LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Multiple people have been displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment, Lauderhill Fire Rescue officials said.
The fire happened just before 8 p.m. Friday in the kitchen of an apartment in the 4400 block of Northwest 21st Street.

Officials said a woman was cooking fried chicken with oil in her kitchen. When she stepped away, the kitchen caught fire.
Six people were in the apartment at the time, but they were able to get out with no injuries.
Fire Rescue crews were able to put the fire out in 20 minutes. The fire did not spread and was contained to the kitchen.
